Busy day in New York

Here's Sarah and me in Times Square..... We had a huge day, visited Times Square, saw the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Wall Street and the caught a show on Broadway. We saw Hairspray, great show.

Now we are tired and are going to have an early night. We want to go and see the Today Show and maybe get our mugs on telly. :)
Night all....

We are here!!!!
So we are here in NYC, a little shell shocked but here.... We had a bit of culture shock when we arrived at the airport. We were picked up by this guy for a taxi, it was a bit cheaper and got to ride in a limo with 2 other couples. Sarah was getting a little freaked out but we made it safe and sound. We have done a bit of walking around near our hotel but everything is so FULL ON. We sort of feel like a fish out of water right now but I am sure we will settle in after a little while. It is a bit freaky, nothing like I have ever seen before. We are going to meet Craig for dinner and go from there. I really don't want to go out clubbing or anything, I just want to have an early night after our early start. Our hotel is in a nice spot but our room is tiny, but I expected that.

I think tomorrow we will do a bit of tour of the sights just to get our bearings, then on Monday we want to get tickets for broadway that night and do a little bit of clothes shopping. We have a list of our preferred shows for broadway. Tuesday may be the statue of liberty, not sure.

Anyway got a message from Ben he is about to head home from NZ, they didn't do so well in the baseball but he had a good time...... He wants us to go back and have a holiday soon!

Hi Kerry & Lauren, thanks for the messages. Lauren sorry we didn't hook up, but there was absolutely no time. No one has any idea what it is like unless you go on an exchange. We don't have transport here in NYC.

Ok will check in later and maybe download a few more pics...

So here comes to New York!!
Hi everyone!!!

Long time no post, I have been so busy.... I really want to sit down and write a full journal of what I have been up to, but for the moment it will just have to be a few dot points with not too much detail.

To say this trip has been full on would be an understatement, but I must quickly add it has been the absolute trip of a lifetime. I have got to see and do the most amazing things, and most of all, meet some wonderful wonderful people. For me going to the NBA basketball and the pro baseball games would have to be the absolute highlights, with Niagara Falls coming in at equal first. Every day there is some sort of highlight for us all.

Last night we had our farewell dinner and many of our host families that we have stayed with over the four weeks came along to say goodbye. I got a little bit emotional because our little team of four has been like a family. We have got along so well, it really is unbelievable. We have been with each other all day, every day. I probably have spent more time with these people than I have spent with any other group. So lucky we are all so easy going.

Anyway tomorrow Sarah and I fly out to New York City. We are so excited. This is the next leg on our trip. On our own in the big city. I am a bit nervous but I am sure we will be fine. I will let you all know, when I can!!

Take care, miss you all!!!

some pics of our trip... no time to write because we are so heavily scheduled.... it is hard to even do our washing some times

All the team getting ready to go inside the park for the big game!! We had a corporate box (or suite) all the hotdogs and beer you can eat and drink, with our very own waiter. It was brutally cold day, but we still had the BEST TIME!!! Very lucky.

Sarah & me with the Indians mascot - Slider. Not sure what sore of creature he is.

I got to run the bases after the game, with the Aussie Flag, so that was pretty cool. The other team members have pics of me on their camera doing that, so will post when I get a copy.
